Animal Needs (and one last GWC project)

We have learned what a plant needs to survive and this week we learned what animals need to survive! We read an “Animals Needs Poem” and illustrated the 5 things that an animal needs to survive on the back! Check it out:

The class made great connections between what a plant needs to survive and what an animal needs to survive; they are really being thinkers these days! πŸ™‚

During center time this week we worked on one last George Washington Carver project — an activity where students had to write facts about GWC using an informational text and then use their “IB menus” to come up with 5 IB words (learner profile traits or attitude) to describe this historical hero. It was fascinating to hear why certain words were chosen — see if your child can describe George Washington Carver using IB words! πŸ™‚

Don’t forget: tomorrow is first grade’s Fathers and Friends breakfast! Can’t wait to see everyone! πŸ™‚
