Recreation from long ago

Last week we studied recreation from long ago. We learned two games, Poor Puppy and Hot and Cold, that are very easy to play and only take a few people! See if your child can teach you how to play 🙂 We also learned how to create a hopscotch board and play hopscotch. Check out these action shots!

On Friday we learned how to play marbles and jacks! Both games were harder than the kids anticipated, but I think everyone enjoyed learning a new game and the challenge!

At the end of the week, it was apparent that our class could compare and contrast recreation from long ago to recreation today. We learned that recreation long ago did not involve technology and was usually played with simple materials. I encourage you and your family to take one night a week off from technology and try some of the “long ago” games your child learned 🙂
