Our principal, Mr. McBride, presented all of the teachers with our very first “Principal Book of the Month” during a staff meeting a few weeks ago. Ms. Broughton, our amazing student teacher, took the lead on reading our new book, “The Juice Box Bully“, and completing a corresponding activity with our class. With a focus on social emotional learning this year, this book was so perfect as it teaches young children to stand up for others and not to be a bystander. I know this lesson was effective because this morning during Morning Meeting (a day after the lesson!), one student said “I want to do better at not being a bystander!”. Can you believe that? I was so impressed. Check out Ms. Broughton reading the story and the adorable promises the class made — plus our amazing bulletin board. 🙂
I highly recommend this book for your library at home — I know we will continue to read it throughout the year!
