A few weeks ago we made these awesome “balanced plates” — where the kids had to sort various food pictures into the appropriate food group. We talked about the importance of having a balanced diet as part of living a healthy, balanced life. For a few days we even graphed what snacks we had to compare what we ate from day to day.
We revisited that same idea today during our health lesson. Each child wrote a poem titled “I am What I Eat”. By using their balanced plates, each child had to pick and choose healthy foods from each food group to make one balanced person. Check out the silly pictures and healthy poems below 🙂 (Click on the picture so you can read each poem — you’ll be glad you did!)
Next week we will be wrapping up this unit, Who We Are, with a super cute summative project. Pictures and updates when we finish! 🙂 Have a great weekend.
