Picture Perfect!

In Language Arts we have been studying and learning about sentences. We’ve been really focusing on using a capital letter at the beginning of a sentence and making sure all of the words are in the correct order — a sentence has to make sense! One other very important part of writing sentences is knowing what type of sentence we are trying to write. We have learned that a statement tells something and ends with a period; a question asks something and ends with a question mark; an exclamation shows strong feeling and ends with an exclamation mark.

To practice writing each type of sentence, each child was given a unique picture from a magazine and ask to observe the picture and then write three sentences, one for each type we’ve learned. Here are a few awesome examples — the rest are hanging out in the hallway – stop by and check them out šŸ™‚
